“Airds will require the removal of almost every mature tree. The koalas have to traverse Airds next to a new road and will be required to cross four instead of two roads.

“They won’t have any trees for protection for at least another 15 years when the new plantings are nearing a sturdy size for the koalas to utilise.”

Today, bulldozers have moved into College Rd, Airds, smashing down trees which are more than 150 years old.
